If I've shared a sorrow
If I've lent more than I borrowed
If I've given love today
then, I have lived.

If I've somehow inspired
If I've filled some heart's desire
If I've helped make a memory,
then, I have lived.

If I've taken the time to share
If I've acted out "my care"
If good intentions were followed thru,
then, I have lived.

If I've given away a part of me
If my life was part of your destiny
If I have somehow enriched your life,
then, I have lived.

If I've held out hope to you
If I've shared my faith that saw you through
If I've joined in the carrying of a burden
then, I have lived.

If I've lived a life of testimony
If I've kept you from feeling lonely
If I've offered a timeless treasure
then, I have lived.

If I've walked bravely through despair
If I've reminded you of God's care
If I've shared His never ending love
then, I have lived.

If I've given you at least one reason to smile
If I've helped you to walk your longest mile
If I've made you feel how special you are,
then, I have lived.

It is in the searching of life's truest meaning
that I realize that I live by gleaning
the specialness of each day
and then, I have lived.

When the day comes that we are to say goodbye
If the parting and memories make you cry
It will be enough to say with hopefully few regrets
at least I did live.
